Prayer Concerns

Pray without ceasing

Prayer is Care

One of the significant responsibilities placed upon those who have been led to faith is the calling to pray for one another and the world. Many places in the New Testament lift up this summons to prayer:

“Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6

Attention all you “tech savvy” folks…that means anyone who can do email!

We are   developing an “Email Prayer Chain.”  Here’s how it will work: When we receive prayer requests, such as about someone having surgery, a death in the family, needing support, illness, etc., when permission has been given, that request will be sent via email to those on   our “prayer chain” who will then include those situations in their personal prayers and   devotions.  If you are interested in being a part of the “prayer chain”, please contact the church office by phone or email and let us know the best email address for us to use for   this purpose.  Thank you for your interest! We are beginning to put together our St. John “Paper Prayer Chain”.

“Prayer Links” are available to add a request of a friend or family member in need of prayer!

You can include   the name of the person requesting prayer, the date and the prayer request. For confidentiality, before using someone’s name in a prayer request, please obtain that   person’s permission prior to including their name on the request. These can (when the box   for permission is checked!) then be shared with the email prayer chain (see description   below!) and then linked together (words on the inside) to create a physical prayer chain  which will be located in the sanctuary.  The “prayer links” can be found in the narthex as you enter the sanctuary and then can be placed in the offering plate or dropped off in the church office.
