St. John Youth News

 Attention High School Youth (grades 8-12):   We will be meeting on Sunday, February 26 at 7:00pm in the  Youth Room!  We’ll gather around snacks, conversation, some bible study, and a goofy game or 2!   Hope to see you there!

The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is coming up on Tuesday, February 21!  We would love to have all of our youth help out with preparations, serving and cleanup!  It’s actually a lot of fun and the food is good!  Both are great benefits!  Funds will benefit the students traveling to New Orleans for the ELCA Youth Gathering this summer.   We will begin preparations around 4:00pm with serving beginning at 5:00pm.

Attention all Middle and High School Youth (Grades 6-12):  The Annual Youth Winter Retreat for our confirmation through high school students is scheduled for the weekend of February 10-12, 2012 at Camp Mowana in Mansfield.  We are asking each student to contribute $50 towards the weekend.  If you have not responded yet and are planning on going, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE notify Pastor Dan and pay your contribution by February 5!  We will meet on February 10 at 5pm at the church and leave shortly after.  Please contact Pastor Dan if you have any concerns or questions.  We are still in need of a female adult leader to go along!  If you feel called to be that person…please contact Pastor Dan about that too!

 
Attention “Explorers” (children in grades 3-5):  Our February dates will be Thursday, February 9 and February 23 from 3-4:30pm.  Join us for some fun, exploration and learning!  Hope you will join us!  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Pastor Dan!      

Looking ahead: 

Also…On Sunday, March 25 beginning at 6pm, we will meet in the church kitchen for an “Iron Chef” Dessert contest!  Ingredients will be supplied and the “secret” ingredient will be revealed that night!  We will need 3 adults as judges to identify the best tasting, most creative and best presentation!  It will be a lot of fun…and filling I’m sure!  Please contact Pastor Dan with questions.

Other news:

Pastor Dan’s DSQ Couple’s Class meets in his office on Sundays from about 9:15-10:15am.  Bring your morning beverage and donut and join the conversation! Beginning in February we will study the miracles of Jesus and see how they connect with the amazing things he can do in our lives!
